Amazon Reviews

Image
It’s time to do something light hearted and fun! We’ve all gone to online stores like Amazon, looked up products, and read the reviews. I’ve decided to come up with a compilation of the different types of reviews. There are regular positive and negative reviews with valid points, but those are no fun! I’m going to focus on the ones that fall outside of the realm of logic. But first, we need a fictional product and company. ABC Co. sounds good, and now for something to write fake reviews about... The All Caps Raver SUPER FAST SHIPPING. MY CAT LOVES IT! The This-Has-Noting-To-Do-With-The-Product Rant Terrible service. I cannot believe that ABC Co. is allowed to treat customers in such a poor manner. I ordered this wonderful shirt to give to my daughter as a graduation present. I needed it by a SPECIFIC date. It doesn’t matter if I ordered it at the last minute. ABC CO SHOULD PROVIDE BETTER SERVICE. What had happened was that I took time off of work so that I could wait for U

I’m still battling that cold; only, I don’t know if what I’m battling is a new cold, or if the one I had before decided to take a turn for the annoying. I like having a good time. Constant sneezing and runny noses are not it, especially the runny nose. Let’s focus on something that’s totally radical (I could whine for an hour about how much this cold sucks). What is this totally radical thing? Technology! I was sitting at my desk yesterday (I got a good round of editing in for The Year is Now). “Bloop! Bloop! Bloop!” The tablet on my desk suddenly started making a noise. I picked it up, opened it, and saw that a relative was trying to skype me, a video call. I remember when the idea of a video call was something only found in sci-fi and hopeful predictions of the future. Computers were just merging into the consumer marketplace when I was a kid. “Typed or handwritten?” was a common question after teachers handed out reports. I would always cringe when it had to be typed (ima

Remedies for a Cold

Happy Spring Solstice! Here’s to hoping that the St. Patrick’s Day snow was the last of it until the fall. As much as I like snow, I am more than ready to wear sandals. My regular habits have been slowed lately because I’ve caught a nasty little cold. When I’m sick, trying to be productive is a lot like hitting a hammer into cement with a shoe. In other words, it’s not happening. I’m happy to say that my remedies for this bug have worked out well. I’m finally getting over it! My remedies: Store brand Nyquil/Dayquil Tea MMOing. Lots and lots of MMOing. Playing an MMO is by far the best solution. (^_-)-☆ Screencaps are from Lord of the Rings Online (LOTRO) It gave me an opportunity to gather the necessary points to trade in for mithril coins, which were then traded for this fabulous dress…One has to look her best when fighting orcs. I have no regrets.

The Outlanders - Issue 2

It is here a day early! I have to work tomorrow, and I may be coming down with something, so rather than leaving this to possible forgettary or I-need-sleep-now, I am posting it tonight! Enjoy!

Around the World in Currency

A General Update  I am working on my "Montgomery" story. The announcement that I was going to make for the moon story will be made for this one instead, so keep your eyes peeled. I just want to say that I love this story! It's finished and is going to be put into the old editorial grind before I let it see the light of day. As for The Year is Now , I am still polishing it with a final round of copy-editing. It is a lengthy process, and it's hard to keep steady in this new, busy world of multitasking and distraction! Even so, I am chipping away at the mines. Around the World in Currency - A pic spam! Circa 10 years ago...I can't believe it's been 10 years. Korean Won Outdated Iraqi currency. Yes. That man in the middle is exactly who you think he is.  These are trades I made. I used to collect currency like baseball cards. Japanese Yen Turkish Lira. Walter Koenig’s Raver - Review

Image
I am a huge fan of Walter Koenig’s Buck Alice and the Actor Robot and graphic novel, Things to Come. When I saw Raver in the iBookstore, I had to get it. It’s not available in paperback even though the first three issues of the comic are. Raver had a different flair to it, but I found myself enjoying it. It is more of a psychological thriller than anything else. If you want a good picture of it before you dive in, read the description. This sounds very lazy of me considering I'm writing a review, but it’s true! There are some novels/comics/etc with descriptions that fail to meet the mark, but this one? It states everything like it is and leaves no room for questions….In other words, there are no surprises. You know exactly what you are getting yourself into. The worlds Norman creates in his mind have a good amount of action, monsters, and everything that makes a comic book entertaining. One world is a sordid mess of fairy tale characters trapped in their own lives, and at
