End of Month: June

June was a creative month for me!

On top of what I'm about to post, I have completed 10 illustrations. I have the next week off, so I hope to make a great deal of progress with them.


Mishi Six - This is my Star Trek Online (STO) character. She's a Vorta in the Federation with telekinetic powers. No...I cannot seem to resist the option to play a telepathic related character!


Alternate Demise - In this little alternate universe, Byron from Babylon 5 never becomes an angst ridden monologue spewing martyr; he never gets the chance! (Byron is the one hanging upside down with the long blonde hair).

  

The Rogues of Athena - A fake Psi Corps issue comic from Babylon 5. Jason Johnson stars in a harrowing battle with the Rogues of Athena! 


Penguinor's Demise - Yeah...it's exactly what it looks like, ha ha! Don't worry; he gets the girl!

Already? I think things have finally slowed down…Let’s hope I didn’t just jinx myself by typing that! I’ve done a lot of knitting since the last time I posted an update. It was a bit crazy there for a while since I foolishly decided to knit a bunch of things in one month for gifts! Well, at least I know better now! I had a great four day vacation last weekend and was able to complete a digital drawing I’ve wanted to do since July. "Lisa Thompson" 800 x 800 px || 2.5 hours || digital Believe it or not, there is a huge story behind Lisa Thompson that has nothing to do with Babylon 5 aside from the fact that in my head she's a P7 telepath with the Psi Corps. Back in July, one of the summer hires sat near me, and we'd make up characters, giving them their own voices. Lisa was my favorite out of my bunch, so I had sketched her out with a ball point pen, Psi Corps badge and all, and pinned her up on one of my cubical walls. Creativity, Meet my Nemesis, Reality

I’ve been thinking about the creative process a lot lately, so I decided to do a seven part series on it--helpful ways you can tap into your inner creative genius to produce something awesome. Whether you're an artist, a writer, a graphic designer, or into arts and crafts, I hope you'll find this series useful. Why am I doing this all of a sudden? Let's just say that I recently had a run in with reality. I jumped headfirst into a tub of ice and got a painful reminder of how rough blindly leaping into unknown waters can be. Yes, I should have known better. I should have done my homework, and I shouldn't have laid a first draft bare like that. My feelings = ouch. Lesson learned.
