Return to Tomorrow: October

I can't believe that October is almost over already! For once, I'm excited about Monday. They are letting us dress up for Halloween, complete with a potluck lunch. I'm bringing some candy so that I can get in on the goodie goodness. I'm going as a Jedi, sans the light saber (they have a strict "no weapons or fake weapons" policy).

This was a creative month for me!

Already? I think things have finally slowed down…Let’s hope I didn’t just jinx myself by typing that! I’ve done a lot of knitting since the last time I posted an update. It was a bit crazy there for a while since I foolishly decided to knit a bunch of things in one month for gifts! Well, at least I know better now! I had a great four day vacation last weekend and was able to complete a digital drawing I’ve wanted to do since July. Lisa was my favorite out of my bunch, so I had sketched her out with a ball point pen, Psi Corps badge and all, and pinned her up on one of my cubical walls. I’ve been thinking about the creative process a lot lately, so I decided to do a seven part series on it--helpful ways you can tap into your inner creative genius to produce something awesome. Whether you're an artist, a writer, a graphic designer, or into arts and crafts, I hope you'll find this series useful. Why am I doing this all of a sudden? Let's just say that I recently had a run in with reality. I jumped headfirst into a tub of ice and got a painful reminder of how rough blindly leaping into unknown waters can be. Yes, I should have known better. I should have done my homework, and I shouldn't have laid a first draft bare like that. My feelings = ouch. Lesson learned.
