Return to Tomorrow: January

It’s the end of the month; time to do a quick rundown of what I’ve been up to this month! Let’s see how my New Years Resolutions have been holding up. On that note, someone please remind me to do this at the end of every month! Hmm, maybe I should write myself a sticky note and pin it somewhere on my desk! I’ve been working massive amounts of overtime for the past two weeks and will be working overtime for the two upcoming weeks. Hopefully I can keep up with my goals! Let’s start this off with my resolutions: Read at least 3 books (when I wrote these resolutions, I hadn’t read anything since June!) Complete at least one art project per month Projects completed: Slytherin hat Lisa Thompson Knit scarf and hat -- I did this as a gift for a one year old. I doubled up the yarn to make it extra warm (it was so soft!). Books read: 1/3 The Demolished Man by Alfred Bester – I give it 5/5 stars!

Don’t mind the tribble… I tried a slightly different technique with the hat to try and make it warmer, so far, so good! I doubled up the yarn. It was harder to work with, but I’m happy with the end result. In other news, I linked my Deviant Art account to this blog so that you can see larger versions of my artwork. Blogger is wonderful, but the layouts look funny if you post pictures that are wider than 500 pixels.

It was a bit crazy there for a while since I foolishly decided to knit a bunch of things in one month for gifts! Well, at least I know better now! "Lisa Thompson" 800 x 800 px || 2.5 hours || digital Believe it or not, there is a huge story behind Lisa Thompson that has nothing to do with Babylon 5 aside from the fact that in my head she's a P7 telepath with the Psi Corps. Back in July, one of the summer hires sat near me, and we'd make up characters, giving them their own voices. Lisa was my favorite out of my bunch, so I had sketched her out with a ball point pen, Psi Corps badge and all, and pinned her up on one of my cubical walls. I figured it was high time she got digital treatm...
